Hi, friend. My name is Kara – thanks for visiting my humble corner of the Internet!
I am the Children’s Ministries Director at Christ Memorial Church in Holland, MI – my dream job that I was lucky enough to land before graduating. I’m also an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the RCA, but being called Pastor or Reverend is still one of the most surreal life experiences for me.
I am married Kelly, and have been with him for 6 years and counting. My parents are wonderful people, and I adore my older sister and brother-in-law. I’ve got an “adopted”family living in Guatemala and about 200 kids in the Holland area that I consider to be mine, even though we don’t have kids of our own (yet!)
I am constantly learning what it feels like to be living the life that I have with A.D.H.D, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (G.A.D.), and Anxiety Induced Depression (A.I.D.), and all of the up’s and down’s that these disorders can bring to my life.
I love any time spent with my husband. Sleeping is perhaps my most favorite activity. I love sports and movies and music and fun. People are my passion and I’ll spend as much time with them as I can. I love game nights and belly laughs and good food. I wish I had more time to read books and more money to build a personal library. My Pinterest boards are overflowing and I love to dream about what could be. I love the lake, the beach, and our local farmer’s market. My dream job would be writing and kids and God all rolled in to one.
God has given us many good gifts, and I am trying to enjoy them as much as I can.
